    We are currently seeking a Diesel Technician/Mechanic to keep up our level of commitment and safety for our award winning fleet in Portland, Oregon.     Responsibilities:

    • Perform routine, scheduled and preventative diesel engine maintenance inspections and required repairs to company standards
    • Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs including steering, electrical, cooling, brake systems, drive trains, suspension, transmissions, etc
    • Schedule your worklload for the day/week/month/year, working with the Portland Chief Diesel Mechanic
    • Keep diesel repair process efficient
    • Keep automotive parts inventory up to date
    • Repair/maintain vehicle wheelchair lifts to ADA standards
    • Maintain a safe, clean, and productive automotive work area
    • Ensure vehicle work orders are accurate and properly completed
    • Some diesel motorcoach driving is occasionally required

    Job Requirements:

    • Prior vehicle/diesel mechanical experience required (minimum 2 years)
    • Ability to work independently and to our company standards in a timely and effective manner
    • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certifications are highly preferred; must be able to obtain
    • Must own and supply appropriate automotive/diesel mechanic tools for necessary duties
    • Must possess a valid Oregon driver’s License
    • Willing to obtain CDL, Class B with Passenger endorsement
    • Must have dependable transportation
    • Must be willing to work early mornings or evening shifts, including weekends, as needed
    • Solid understanding and adherence to safety and environmental standards
    • Must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
    • Must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen, including for marijuana and Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
    • Upon hire, the person chosen will need to show proof of eligibility to work in the United States

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience in all aspects of bus or motorcoach engine/diesel repair
    • Automotive electronic diagnostic and repair experience
    • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications in Transit Bus, Charter Bus, or Medium/Heavy Duty Truck a plus
    • Working knowledge of automotive Air Conditioning & Electrical Systems
    • Some experience driving commercial passenger vehicles preferred
    • Computerized record keeping skills
    • Fluent in English
